About our under 18's team

A look back at Season 2016-2017:

There was one very strong team who deservedly won the title. Overall , it was a close league – on their day it seemed most teams could match each other.

We had 5 league games where we only lost by the odd goal. They could easily have been victories which would have raised us up to 4th , and indeed lost by the odd goal in 9 to Tonbridge Juniors in the Cup. We continued to play attractive football, as commented on by numerous opposition coaches, and we insist on our boys respecting the referee even where decisions go against us. It is for us, the coaches to speak with the referee.

We always play to the spirit of the game , but the key thing is that the boys continue to enjoy their football , and we feel that our inclusive policy assists with that.’

Looking forward to our Upcoming Season 2017-2018:

‘We have maintained our squad from last year (plus one new addition), which we think is indicative of the way the boys enjoy their football and the camaraderie they have engendered. We also have the same coaches with, hopefully, occasional input from a local Pembury lad, who plays for Millwall.

We look forward to welcoming 3 teams we have never played before, and an old ‘friend’, Crowborough Athletic. We intend to maintain our policy of inclusivity and , looking to play fair, attractive football , playing to the strengths of our players.

We are fortunate to have a wonderfully supportive set of parents , who are fully appreciated by the coaches. We hope that if the boys play to their potential, then 2016/17 could be a very interesting season.’
